The Lab

Study with Precision was developed with med students...

More than 20 years ago, I began working with students at a medical school, and many of them were struggling.

Back then, med schools often assigned about 1,000 pages of reading every week – and a lot of the students just weren’t ready for that.

(With the addition of digital content, it's gotten worse since.)

So, my colleague and I scoured the research on learning and memory to see what might help. When we found something promising, we’d test it on our med students. We had 2 criteria...

First, the strategy had to work. It had to help students move the information into their long-term memories – structured so that they could retrieve that information as needed for:

  • classes
  • tests
  • clinical application
  • problem-solving (critical thinking), and
  • the US Medical Licensing Exams (USMLE).

Second, the strategies had to be efficient – they had to work at the rapid pace of med school. No matter how effective it was, if it wasn’t efficient, we tossed it.

That is how we developed this system, now called Study with Precision (SWP), that has consistently helped students succeed in med school, and in their residency programs.

Then, we applied SWP to nursing students – it worked for them.

Then allied health sciences students. It worked for them, too.

And for more than a decade now, I’ve worked with pre-med students – and have helped them get the GPA’s and MCAT scores they need to get into med school.

Along the way, I’ve written 3 books, conducted more than 100 workshops, and spent thousands of hours with over 3,000 students.

Study with Precision can help you dramatically improve your test performance, GPA and MCAT scores.

It won't just upgrade your study skills; it will revolutionize the way you structure, process and retain information.
